I recently had a conversation with my husband about how to stay motivated and it got me thinking about how I try to stay motivated in my work. He was specifically asking me how I am able to accomplish so much in one day. While, I was humbled by his kind words, I was also feeling less than motivated at the time. I shared last week that it has been a little bit of a struggle for me to come up with and find topics for posts. Over the past year, I have really slowed down with the posts and honestly it gave me a lot more motivation to write. However, lately that has not been the case.
With all that being said, I wanted to share a couple of things that have really helped me keep motivated lately. And hopefully, if you are in the same boat they will help you as well.
SET A ROUTINE
I find that having a set routine each day gives you purpose and helps you stay focused. Even if you work from home, this can help you. As I told my husband, this will help on days when you don’t have a whole lot going on.
WORKOUT
This is a huge one for me. I have to workout at least a couple times a week to feel good about myself. It helps with stress and gives you that extra boost of energy. We have recently been starting to workout in the mornings before work and I have actually noticed a difference in how my days go. Which do you prefer….morning or evening workouts?
TAKE TIME AWAY
Stepping back from a project and/or Instagram has been huge for me lately. My day to day job has been trying me lately and the only way I can relax is to step away from it all. It helps you gain perspective as well.
CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF
As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety I am always making sure that I am taking some time just for myself. Whether it be a girls day or just going to grab coffee alone in the morning. It is important to take some alone time every now and again.
