A Day in: Charleston, South Carolina

We finally made it back to Dallas from our week long trip to South Carolina. I am happy to be back, but it is always a sad feeling when a vacation is over. We had so much fun on this trip and I wanted to share a full recap of what we did while we were gone. First up, I am going to share about our day we spent in Charleston.

While we visited HHI, we decided to take a day trip to Charleston. Charleston is about a 2 hour drive from HHI and totally worth it. We arrived around 9:00am, just in time for breakfast and spent the whole day exploring the charming town. I wanted to share our day trip and all the fun things to do if you decide to visit.

Stay tuned for my recap on our trip to HHI later on this week! Thank you for reading! xo, Nataly

WHAT WE ATE:

TOAST

Brian chose this place and it was a big hit. We both loved it and would totally go back again. We chose the location in the heart of downtown.

MELVIN’S BBQ

Since, we had been eating so much seafood in HHI, we opted for South Carolina BBQ. Which in fact is a lot different from Texas BBQ. Melvin’s did not disappoint!

WHAT WE DID:

RAINBOW ROW

A must see if you are visiting. All the homes are painted bright colors and decorated so cute. The perfect spot for a quick insta-worthy snap. Actually, all the homes in Charleston are so beautiful you can’t go wrong with driving down any street. But, Rainbow Row is has to be the cutest of them all. Parking is a nightmare in this area, so be prepared to walk a long way from your car.

BOONE HILL PLANTATION

We visited Magnolia Plantation on our last visit, so we wanted to visit Boone Hill Plantation this time around. It is about a 20 – 30 minute drive from Charleston. We spent about 2 hours exploring the grounds and even took a tour of the old home. I have to say this is a must see. They filmed parts of the Notebook at this home. When you see it, you will know why.

SHOPPING ON KING STREET

There are so many great places to shop in Charleston and King Street is full of all my favorites including luxury and old favorites like Loft. It is a great place to spend a whole afternoon, just walking into all the shops!
