Life Update + Cutest $10 Top

It’s been a while since I have updated y’all on what has been going on in my personal life. So, I thought now would be the perfect opportunity. To say a lot has been going on in my personal life would be the understatement of the year. It is true what they say…”when it rains, it pours” and girl it’s been pouring. Let’s go back to the beginning of May…I found out my Dad had stage 1 prostate cancer. Honestly, I was in shock when he told me the news. It scared the absolute crap out of me. You never think that any of your loved ones are going to get hurt, let alone have cancer. However, he was very lucky. He had to have surgery (which happened 2 weeks later), a follow-up appointment and would be good to go…meaning the cancer would be gone. Since then, he is fine and cancer free. PTL (Praise the Lord :))

The month of May was rough both emotionally and physically. It definitely took a toll on me and my family. Once, we got over the hurdle with my Dad another one came our way. My aunt was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. This literally rocked my world. My aunt is like a mother to me. I talk to her at least once if not twice a day, so trying to imagine my life without her was very overwhelming for me.

My aunt has been a rock star at not letting this affect her, which in turn is helping me not get too anxious or overwhelmed with all the bad news. Tuesday, she went in for surgery to try and remove some of the cancer from her brain. We are and have been praying for a speedy recovery…which she has rocked. She only had to stay in the hospital 3 days. As we speak she is at home resting and already starting to feel better. She also recently started a newer treatment called immunotherapy to help stop the cancer from spreading so fast.

Throughout all of this, I have realized just how special time with loved ones and family truly is. Sometimes, I get caught up in what I have going on and don’t stop to take a break/spend time with my family like I should. That is why lately I have been a little more absent both here and on Instagram. I am not pushing myself as much to get posts done like I used to. I’m not trying to overwhelm myself with writing a certain number of posts a week. I would focus on making at least one post a week here on the blog and post daily over on Instagram. I just find it so much easier and that way I can focus on all the family stuff right now. I hope you all understand and hopefully I will be back to my normal schedule soon.

Thank you so much for reading! xo, Nataly
