Tips for Staying Healthy

Today, I wanted to share some of my tips for staying healthy. I am by no means good at staying or eating healthy, but I do my best to live a healthier lifestyle by incorporating these tips below into my daily routine. I love to indulge every now and then, but I try not to make it a habit. This year has started off right in the sense that I am finally on a set workout routine and I have actually been sticking to it. Pilates and cardio have been keeping me in shape and feeling better about my body.

1. Drink Water – This one is huge. I do love coffee and tea, but I try to limit that to only 1 or at the most 2 per day. Otherwise, you will find me with a bottle of water in my hand and on my desk. I try to drink as much as I can during the day. I love adding lemon to my water. Makes it taste a little better and not so boring.

2. Workout – I have discussed this here before, but I can’t suggest this enough — Find a good workout that works for you and your lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be anything really hard, but just something that you will get in the habit of doing. And don’t think that you have to start out going 7 days a week. I would suggest starting with 2-3 workouts a week and build it from there.

3. Moderation – I am a lover of all the food. Give me a taco, some guacamole and I am all set. That being said I try not to go over board. I believe that you can eat what you want, as long as you are working out and eating in moderation. I try not to eat until I am stuffed and can’t move. I also don’t eat dinner after 8pm. I have read several articles with differing options, but most say that eating after 8pm can cause weight gain. I am not an expert, but I stick to this rule almost always.

Now, let’s talk about my outfit. I picked up these leggings {similar here} and sweatshirt while shopping at Nordstrom Rack the other day. I find that they have really cute activewear for a lot cheaper than if you were to buy it at Nordstrom or another active wear brand. These leggings were under $40! That is a total steal for a good pair of cute workout leggings. They also carry brands like Zella, Nike, Adidas and more. This isn’t an ad, I just wanted to share in case you were looking for cute pieces, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money.

I paired this look with some of my favorite shoes from Steve Madden. They are so comfortable and perfect for running errands.

  2. I think moderation is the key to success for eating healthy. Your body wants what it can’t have, so it will balance itself out if you give it some sweets every now and then. Such a great tip! As for this top, such a cute and comfy everyday top. Love it!
