I Tried a Juice Detox and Here's What Happened...

Today (Monday, June 19th), I started a juice detox. This is totally out of character for me. I am the type of person that gets hangry more often that you think one should. So, a juice detox?! What was I thinking?! Well, I saw my photographer friend, Luisa, tried one, from Squeezed Online, about a week or so ago and I texted her to asked her how she liked it. I asked her all my burning questions...did you get hungry and how did you survive a whole day without eating?! 😂 She assured me that she loved it and I should give it a try. And I wanted to share my experience with you all because I mean...why not?!

Squeezed Online is a Texas based company, that delivers in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio. The juices were delivered straight to my doorstep before I left for work.

One thing I didn't notice at first was the sugar count on each juice. It is so high! I would say that is the one thing that would make me NOT want to try this detox again. 40+ sugars per juice seems way too high for me.

Here is how my day went...

JUICE #1 BREAKFAST: Tasted really good and kept me full for at least a couple of hours. I started to get hungry after 3 hours...time for juice #2. I feel good and my energy isn't low and so far I don't feel sleepy!

JUICE #2 MID-MORNING SNACK: This one might be my favorite juice so far! I am feeling a little more energized than before and not hungry yet, which was my fear. So far, so good.

It is around 10:30 am and I am starting to feel really sleepy! I am having my next juice at 11:00am, so hopefully it will wake me up. Right now, I feel like I need a nap.

JUICE #3 LUNCH: This one tasted really good for mostly being all veggies. I felt really good after drinking this one, but after about an hour, I felt sleepy again. I broke down and had a snack too! I just needed something to eat. I am back on track now! Ready to tackle the last couple of drinks.

JUICE #4 AFTERNOON SNACK: By the time I got home, I was sleepy again and was starting to get a headache from not eating anything all day. I drank the 4th juice and started to feel a little more energized, but not my normal self really. I actually didn't even get a work out in this day because I felt so drained.

JUICE #5 DINNER: Starting to feel a little better after drinking my final juice. Maybe because I knew that I was done and had accomplished my goal!

Overall, I would say if you are looking for a detox this one is a great option. My only hesitation is the amount of sugar that each juice contains! I mean I only tried this for one day (results might be different if you choose to do a longer detox) and everyone is different, so your results, might be a lot better than mine. I did feel good after I drank each juice, but then I would crash a little bit later. I also really loved the taste of every juice. I am really glad I gave this a chance and proved to myself that I could go *ALMOST* all day without eating. I only cheated once!
