How I Manage Blogging + Working Full Time

6:48:00 AM

Working full time and blogging is a struggle sometimes. But, honestly, I love it so much I wouldn't have it any other way. I get this question most often when chatting with other bloggers, friends and family..."How in the world do you blog 5 days a week and work a full time job?" Well, I am here to say it isn't as hard as it sounds. It is quite a bit of work outside of your 9-5, but here is how I make it work for me.

1. GET ORGANIZED - This is key to staying productive. I can't function correctly if I am unorganized. I have to plan out my posts at least a week in advance. Leaving a little bit of wiggle room if something important comes up. I keep all my posts, Instagrams and important blogging events organized in my Erin Condren. This planner has been a life saver for me.

2. MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME - I have talked about this before, but I get off work relatively early, so I like to come home and work on blog related items. I spend at least 1-2 hrs on BEB a night. I try my best to get all my work done before my husband walks in the door. That way I can focus my attention on him. This is the hardest for me, I am a workaholic when it comes to this blog.

3. WRITE YOUR POSTS IN ADVANCE - Each week I sit down with my planner and laptop to plan out my posts for the week. I also go through add photos and write my posts. I find this is the easiest way for me to get all my work done for the week. That way I am not scrambling the night before trying to write a post. I am not a last minute type of gal! On the day before the post is going to go live I go back to the post, re-write anything I think needs changing, add some personal notes and add all my links.

It can be hard writing posts 5 times a week. There are weeks when I open up my post and have no idea what to write or say. In this case, I usually look to Pinterest and Instagram, just for some inspiration. Keep in mind...I don't mean copying or using any one else work. I just merely scroll through until something comes to mind. Which tends to happen quickly for me. If that doesn't work I write a more personal post with things that are happening in my life. That seems to get the creative juices flowing.

Now, let's talk about this outfit. I have been on quite a black and white kick lately. I picked up this top specifically for work, but decided to pair it with white jeans and black mules for a more casual look. It is safe to say this look will be on repeat!

I received this bag in the mail from Hazlmay last week and have been carrying it ever since. You all know I am a handbag lover, so I couldn't possible pass up this cute little tote. It is a great neutral bag and I love the knotted details at the bottom. It is a vegan leather bag. It is really nice quality for the price and not being real leather. I was really surprised by how much I loved the style too.

You can receive 20% off your Hazlmay bag purchase with the code: NATALY20 at checkout. {this code is only available for 1 month April 20th, 2017- May 20th, 2017}

Thank you so much for reading! xo, Nataly

  6. Ugh I'm terrible at writing my posts in advance. I try to write them all at the beginning of the week, but it never actually ends up happening haha. I try to at least be good at all the other things you suggested!
