NYE Party Makeup

6:50:00 AM

With NYE, coming up this weekend I thought I would share my go-to party makeup look. {{see my party look here}} I usually don't change up too much when getting ready for a party, but I do like to go a little bolder with the eyes and lips. A red lip is always a good idea for a holiday party. Keep reading to see the full details on this look.

FOR THE FACE:

After I cleanse my face using my CeraVe Foaming Cleanser, I moisturize using the HydroPeptide Lumapro-C Skin brightening pigment corrector (full review coming soon), CeraVe moisturizing lotion, and Kiehl's eye cream. All of these together make a great base for makeup application.

For foundation I have been mixing the Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream and L'Oréal Ultra Matte foundation, mainly because I am in between shades and these two together seem to be the perfect match. Also, I wanted a little bit more coverage and lasting power.  I like that they are matte because my skin has been on the more oily side lately.

For concealer I use my trusty, Maybelline Better Skin concealer. This covers my dark circles as well as brightens the under eye area. It doesn't crease and leaves my eyes looking more awake.

After foundation and concealer, I set both with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It helps keep my foundation and concealer in place all night. No need for any touch ups after using this combination. This is key when making sure your makeup will last all night and will look good in photos.

FOR THE EYES:

I usually go for a little bit of a darker eye look when doing party makeup. Something that will make my eyes stand out a little more than they normally do. I have been loving this Clinique Quad that I received as a gift from a friend. I use the darkest shade (morning java) in my crease and blend, blend, blend out the edges to make sure there are no harsh lines. For all over the lid I use the second darkest shade (hazy). To add a little light to the look I add the lightest shade (teddy bear) to highlight my brow bone. And for the inner corners of my eyes I use my Laura Gellar Highlighter. This really brightens up the eyes and makes them pop.

FOR THE LIPS:

Red lips are my go-to for any holiday look. I recently discovered this Clinique lipstick in Cherry Pop and it seems to be the perfect shade for my skin tone. I haven't really been a fan of red lips before I stumbled upon this lip combo. And to add a little shine to my lips I use the Smith & Cult lip gloss in Warning. This really ties the whole look together and creates the perfect NYE party look.

FINISHING SPRAY:

Finally, to set your makeup for the whole night I suggest using a makeup setting spray. This one from Evian is not only refreshing, but helps lock in your makeup for the whole night.
