Summer Makeup Look

When it comes to my beauty routine in the summer I like to keep it REAL simple...okay well, let's be honest...I like to keep it REAL simple all year round, except during the summer I want lighter weight products and that beachy glow, without having to visit the beach. I wanted to share some of my go-to products for the upcoming Summer weather. Some of these I have been using for a while now, but either way you need to know about them!

You all know I am not a huge fan of foundations, so I usually stick to the BB or CC creams year round. The ones I usually prefer have to have that added sunscreen. Especially, if you are going to be in the sun all day. I love that now a days most foundation have that added SPF, so it really is a no brainer. My favorite is the It Cosmetics CC Cream 50+ SPF (I wear the color Light). I have a full review of this product here if you want to learn more about why it is my favorite. It is a sheer to full coverage product and doesn't make the skin look cakey.

I use this CC Cream after my Too Faced Hangover Rx. This is a primer that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and my pores filled in. It really is a hangover cure for your skin. It makes the skin look more awake and ready for foundation or BB Cream.

Another favorite of mine to add to my skin is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector. This product gives you that "glow from within" look. You can add as little (or as much) to your foundation to give you that beachy glow. I. love. this. I have been using it for a while now and can't get enough. Sometimes, I don't add it all over the skin just on the high points of my skin to add that extra highlight (before I use powder highlight). I highly recommend this product for your makeup bag.

BRONZER: During the summer, I like to add a little extra bronzer than normal. I have tried many bronzers and have to say that my favorite right now is the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer. It isn't too muddy, or shimmery. It is great for those of us who have a fair skin tone. I like my bronzer to be matte because I add shimmer with my blush and highlight.

BLUSH: My favorite blush for the summer is a peachy or coral toned one. This one from Milani in Luminoso is a long time favorite. It isn't too shimmery, or bright. It gives you a nice wash of color.

HIGHLIGHTER: I have just recently become a fan of highlighters. Before I never understood what the point of highlighting my face was, but I think that is because I wasn't using the right products or going over board with too much highlighter. I finally found the right products and am very happy with the results I found. So, where do I highlight? Here is an easy chart (I don't do this everyday) that might help. I use the Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlight Palette. I also love the Becca Highligher in Opal. I typically add the highlighter with a stippling brush and then go over it with a beauty blender to set it into the skin.

CONCEALER: I have still been using my trusty Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. It is very similar to the more expensive Nars Creamy Concealer (which I also really like). The Maybelline concealer offers good coverage and is easy to blend under the eyes. It doesn't leave my under eyes feeling dry or cakey either.

EYESHADOW: I like to use the Carli Bybel Palette for my eyes too. I use the light shimmery beige color and blend it all over my lids. It is the perfect shade to make your eyes look awake and youthful. I always use a good eyeshadow primer underneath to make sure that my eyeshadow will stay in place.

MASCARA: I have talked about this in several other beauty posts, but my favorite mascara is still the Benefit Roller Lash. I haven't found a mascara yet that compares! It lengthens my lashes; Makes them look like falsies. I also always use my eye lash curler to give that extra volume and length.

LIPS: For lips you can use any nude or coral nude shade to tie the whole look together. My favorite to pair with this look is NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige (it is more of a pinky beige than an actual beige).

Thank you for reading, xo.
