My Everyday Makeup Routine

7:35:00 AM

I typically wear makeup everyday, however I am a sleep lover, so I have had to get my routine down to a science. I have around 15 minutes to do a complete face of makeup. While, this may not be that much time to most, I think I have figured out how to do my favorite makeup. I am a minimalist on most days and wear the same makeup everyday unless I am going out on a date night or special occasion.

Today, I wanted to share a little update on the makeup I wear everyday to work. Most of these products are the old, but I have also recently discovered some new favorite to share with you. I start out with the Kiehl's Creamy Under Eye Treatment with Avocado and moisturizer by Too Faced. I have been using the under eye treatment for about 2 years now and couldn't say enough good things about it. It is perfect for refreshing tired or puffy eyes. The avocado soothes and helps brighten the under eye. I apply this every morning and then follow with the Too Faced Hangover Primer.
Note: The Too Faced Moisturizer is a primer, but it is a replenishing primer that helps hydrate, soothe and brighten the skin. I use this before my actual primer.

Next, I use the Kiehl's Micro-Blur Skin Perfecter Primer to prime the skin before I apply BB creme. As far as coverage goes, this Maybelline BB Creme is really light. I don't like the feeling of wearing lots of makeup, so I usually will pick a BB or CC Cream over an actual foundation. I like to apply the BB Cream with my beauty blender (best purchase I've made). I apply a drop on both cheeks, forehead, nose and chin and blend to cover my entire face.

My current under eye concealer is also from Maybelline, SuperStay Better Skin Concealer. I use the color light under my eyes. This product is heavy duty, not cakey, blends out nicely under my eyes and doesn't crease (all things I like when testing a new concealer). I apply my concealer in a triangle under my eye instead of dotting or swiping it under my eye. I use my beauty blender to blend this out too.

For my cheeks, I still use my Benefit Hoola Bronzer and my Milani Rose Powder Blush in the color Romantic Rose. I also use Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Opal, to add a little extra shimmer and soft glow to the tops of my cheeks. I use my Elf Kabukki Brush to apply bronzer and the Real Techniques Blush Brush for my blush and highlighter.

For lashes, I have been using the Benefit Roller Lash for a while now. Truly the best mascara I have used in a long, long time. It lengthens and separates my lashes. If you like thin, "wispy" lashes then this mascara is for you. If you want a fuller look you can layer a more voluminous mascara, like the Better than Sex Mascara. Don't forget to curl your lashes! I have been using this one for years now and it works great!

For my eyelids, I use Urban Decay Primer Potion in original (no color, just to cancel out the veins in my eyelids). I simply swipe this on and blend out with my finger. On top I swipe the color W.O.S. from the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette.

I have been using the Anastasia Brow Wiz in the color soft brown. I really love the way that this product works. It gives me a soft, natural look. I also love the brush on the other end; It makes blending a breeze!

And, finally, for lips, I use the YSL lip color in I Rose You. I pretty much wear this shade every day. It is the perfect "everyday color".

Thanks so much for reading, xo.
