4 Basic Rules to Accessorizing

Accessorizing with jewelry, bags, etc. can be a challenge sometimes, especially for me. I am more of a minimalist when it comes to trying to accessorize my outfit. That is why I wanted to share some good tips on how to look more pulled together or to just help complete your outfit.

Statement Jewelry- I am a big fan of statement necklaces because they help pull your whole outfit together without having to add too many pieces of jewelry. Also, stacking a couple of bracelets on your wrist is an easy way to amp up your style.

Fun Shoes- Shoes can dress up a boring outfit as well. Try finding a bright pair or some animal print shoes to complete an outfit. I find this to be the best way to bring an outfit together.

Scarves- Scarves aren't just for the fall or winter season. They look great all year round. Plus, you can find lots of different styles and lighter weights for the warmer months. Here in Texas the heat can get pretty unbearable, so adding a simple scarf to a plain tee takes your look up another level.

The 'Last' Layer- When I attended the Neiman Marcus Shoe & Handbag event (see post here) the hosts talked a lot about the idea of adding a 'last' layer to finish off your outfit. This could mean layering on a poncho over just a plain long sleeve tee or even adding a crossbody bag to complete the look.
