My 30th Birthday

Today, is my 30th birthday. I am leaving my twenties in the dust and embracing (sort of) my thirties. I really enjoyed my twenties. In my twenties I graduated from college, made some big life changes, married Brian, and learned a whole lot about myself in the process. I thought in celebration of the big day I would share some facts you may or may not know about me.

1. I don't have my ears pierced. I tried twice when I was younger and they never healed correctly.
2. I went to private school until my junior year in high school.
3. I am turning 30, but still feel like I am in my early twenties.
4. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I have never lived anywhere else.
5. I went to the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green). My degree is in Textiles with a minor in Marketing.
6.  I met Brian when I was in high school. Read my anniversary post here.
7.  I hate driving. I only drive when it is absolutely necessary, i.e. work, etc. But, if I can I will try to ride with someone else.
8. Brian's nickname for me is turtle.  It's a long story, but it's because I walk really slow.
9. BEB will be celebrating it's 2nd official birthday in July.
10. My full time job is in a large hospital in Dallas.
11. My mom, sister and me all have birthdays in May. My Anniversary and engagement anniversary are also in May. It is a very busy month for our household.
12. I am always hungry. If I don't eat on time, let's just say I am not fun to be around.
13. I have a blended family. One sister who is 35, one step-sister who is 31, and one step-brother who is 37. I love having so many siblings.
14. I could live off of tacos! When Brian and I are deciding on where to eat for date night 99% of the time I suggest Mexican or a taco joint.
15. My first job was at Abercrombie Kids at the Galleria Mall. At the time I could fit into all the clothes, so it worked!
16. My favorite vacation Brian and I ever took was to Hilton Head Island, SC. If I could live anywhere besides Dallas it would be South Carolina.
17. I am always at least 15-20 minutes early for every appointment I have. I'd rather be really early than even a minute late.
18. Every year for our anniversary and my birthday Brian and I take a trip to celebrate. Big or small we try to make it somewhere during the month of May to celebrate. This year we went to San Antonio. We are planning another trip coming up in the fall, so stay tuned for another travel guide.
19. I love all things skincare related. I didn't realize this about my self until I started blogging again, but I am very passionate about skincare products. I love doing reviews and trying out new things to share with you all.
20. Brian's parents live in East Texas on the lake and my MIL has a boutique shop in their town called Clara Ida Frances. You will often see me snap it on Instagram. It is a hidden gem...I might be a little biased, but it is true!
21. I love the Carmel Macchiato at Starbucks and I drink it way too often.
22. On my side of the family I have 5 nieces. And my sister is pregnant with the first boy in our family! We are all very excited. He will get lots of love from his cousins.
23. I was on a competitive swim team until I was 8. I love swimming, but hate any kind of competition.
24. My mom and aunt are some of my best friends. I always call them first when I need advice.
25. I have to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Without that I am not able to function at work.
26. I can't handle being unorganized. It drives me nuts.
27. I love being outside in the sun, but I burn really easily. Funny Story: On our honeymoon, I asked Brian to keep an eye on me to make sure I wasn't burning. Let's just say that is the last time I trusted him to do that. I had the worst sunburn I have ever had. It was painful and kind of funny.
28. I have never broken any bones.
29. Brian is the cook for us. I hate to cook! When you see recipe posts on BEB they are always from him. It is the only content here on my blog that he has full control over.
30. Brian and Kasey (Running In Heels Blog) shoot all my photos. Sometimes I hire a professional, if it is a special collaboration, but otherwise all the photos seen here are shot by them.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I know I enjoyed writing it. Thank you all for the sweet birthday comments. You all are the best! xo, Nataly

Leopard Print Peplum + Nordstrom Sale Picks

This cami is going to be ideal for the summer. If you live in or have visited Texas in the summer then you know that the heat can be unbearable, so I like to find pieces that are not only cute, but will keep me cool! This cami is exactly that! It also has a cute tie up detail in the back. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find this cami online. I bought it while in San Antonio thinking they would definitely have it online to share with you all! 🙈🙈🙈 Blogging first world problems over here! But, I have linked some very similar options at the end of the post! If you are really interested in finding this exact top then I would check your local Nordstrom Rack to see if they have it in stock. Sometimes they don't always carry what they have in store online.

This top can be paired with both shorts and jeans depending on what event you might be attending. I decided to style it with shorts and slides for a really casual look. I see myself even wearing this top to work underneath a cardigan with black pants.

The Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale started yesterday and ends June 4th. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the sale. You can save up to 40% off on your purchase across all categories. Now would be a great time to stock up on summer essentials.

Feeling Girly in Gingham

Gingham has been a favorite of mine for a while now. So, when I spotted this pink off the shoulder top I knew it would make a great addition to my closet for the rest of spring and summer. It is hard to believe that summer is almost upon us (June 21st)! Check out the side bar 👉 I've added a bunch of summer items that I recently picked up. Also, keep an eye out for a swimwear post coming really soon!

I paired this top with ripped denim and sandals for a fun spring time look. But, I think when the weather warms up a bit more I can easily wear this top with shorts and slides. This top is also a total steal at under $20! It also comes in blue and purple if pink isn't your favorite.

It is officially my birthday week! The count down to 30 is on! I am the kind of girl that likes to celebrate all month long. Anyone else?! It helps that my anniversary and engagement anniversary also happen to be this month too. Along with both my sister and moms birthdays! To celebrate my parents are throwing a little BBQ at their house on Saturday. I am also taking off work on Friday, not only because of my birthday, but I also have to get my license renewed. Yay! NOT! 🙈

Spring Beauty Favorites

I am a beauty junkie. I love to try new skincare and makeup all the time. I am always on the hunt for a new favorite. While, I do have some old favorites, there are some new items that I am currently loving that I wanted to share with y'all.

JULEP - IT'S BALM in BLOSSOM - if you have been seeing my style posts then you have been seeing me wear this color non-stop. It is so easy to apply and I love the color on my skin tone.

JOSIE MARAN POWER VEIL - I received this in my most recent Glossybox. It is an all over highlighting powder. It gives a natural looking glow.

JULEP CLEANSING OIL - You have seen me talk about this product in my review. But, I wanted to give it another shout out because I love it so much!

ST. TROPEZ SELF TANNER 1 HOUR EXPRESS - All my pale girls stand up!? 👋 This is a life saver for me when I am headed to the beach or a special event. It gives me a nice tan color, not to orange, and lasts about a week. It is a mousse so it is really easy to apply and you don't have to leave it on over night. The tan develops in as little as 1 hour.

ZOELLA WONDEROUS WHIP - I received some Zoella beauty products in the mail and this body cream has been my favorite so far. It is a super hydrating, but not too thick. I apply it after I get out of the shower and it keeps my skin hydrated all day long.

JULEP CHARCOAL CLEANSING SPONGE - Another favorite from my recent Julep Skincare Review. I have been using this is combination with the cleansing oil and have been really liking the results. It leaves my face feeling clean and smooth.

MAYBELIENE DREAM CUSHION LIQUID FOUNDATION - This is my second time trying a cushion foundation and I am really loving it. This particular one has been my go-to. It is easy to apply, lasts all day and doesn't go too oily on my skin. I use the applicator that comes with it to apply it to the skin. I find that my beauty blender doesn't work that well with it.

Strappy Back Striped Tee

Happy Monday y'all! We went out of town again this weekend to visit Brian's parents in East Texas. It was a weekend full of relaxing, which is exactly what the doctor ordered. I wasn't feeling too hot while we were there, so I am glad I was able to rest and of course work on blog related things.

This is the final look that we shot while we were on our trip in San Antonio {travel guide here}. This comfortable tee is going to be on repeat the rest of Spring and Summer! I love how easy it is to wear with both jeans and shorts. You can easily dress it up or down too!

A girl can't have enough casual tees like this one. I also love the details on the back it just makes it that much cuter. I wore a black bralette underneath. My favorite bralette that I have found is from Free People. They are comfortable and easy to pair with items like this one that has more of an open back. They come in a ton of colors and are only $20.
